In a game previous to the very anticipated UEFA Champions League clash against AC Milan, Barcelona received Deportivo La Coruña in a game that ended
This was the first of four games that Barcelona would face without Victor Valdes after a 4 match suspension for verbally abusing the referee in the match against Real Madrid atSantiago Bernabeu.
The first half started with the unusual absence of Xavi Hernandez (injury), Andres Iniesta, Sergio Busquets and Lionel Messi, all expected to appear against Milan on Tuesday. The last time Messi was not found in the starting lineup of Barcelona was the game against Benfica for Champions League in which he entered in the second half and had to be substituted after a bad fall that seemed to be a knee injury.  
Alexis Sanchez (38') opened the score after several wasted options for the locals. A cross from Dani Alves was finalized by Sanchez with a beautiful header that bounced before making its way to the end of the match put things 1-0 in favor of Barcelona.
The second half saw three substitutions for main players: Lionel Messi for David Villa, Andres Iniesta for Thiago and Sergio Busquets for Cesc Fabregas.
Many minutes later, the cherry on top would be Lionel Messi's (87') amazing 2-0 for the final win, and upping his personal streak to 17 consecutive games scoring in La Liga.
